concept
A structured form of performance and the interlinking of various media and forms of presentation are the focus of the examinations of the artists participating in UNGEMÜTLICH. They understand the constraints based that result from collective use of limited space as a challenge and perspective for individual interpretations and interactions. In essence, everyone is oneself; they encounter one other on the periphery.
UNGEMÜTLICH comprises several performances that are all related to:
1. The theme, UNGEMÜTLICH
2. General ideas of body, empathy, and contemporaneity
3. Individuality and the circumstances given by the place
4. The general work of the participants
On the edges, on the periphery, the beginnings and ends of the different works flow into one another. The end of the previous performance is also the beginning of the following one. The formal, visual, and conceptual aspects of one work become linked to the other, as does the music, as well. The participants in the event are invited to work together and communicate with each other. There are no breaks in between the performances, no announcements by a moderator. Together, the various performances each become a chapter of a story that will be told just this once – on the evening of the event.
history of the event
Up to now, the UNGEMÜTLICH concept has been taken place four times:
in Berlin in 2011, in Karlsruhe in 2012, and again in Berlin in 2013.
UNGEMÜTLCH IV has taken place in cooperation with the Goethe Institut Marseille in September 2016 at L'Embobineuse, 11 Boulevard oués, 13003 Marseille, France.
The documentation of this event has recently been been presented in terms of exposition, video projection and live peformances on the 9th of September at the afternoon salon À l'Oriel and in terms of new performances at l'asile 404 in Marseille and at the CASA LOBA in Reillanne, France.
UNGEMÜTLCH V will take place at the 27th, 28th, and 29th October 2017, at the Willner Brauerei Berlin Prenzlauer Berg, Berliner Strasse 80-82, 13189 Berlin.

Around forty artists are invited to participate at UNGEMÜTLICH V. The event will be progressing. Each work, each time, each day is a microcosmos in a macrocosmos, linked to eachother in progress, friction, energy and communication.
Traces of performance and installation in terms of object and sound will creat a rising compression of fraction, space and intensity. The performances take place one after the other in a cycle time of 20 to 30 min. The end of the first performance is also the begining of the second one and so on. The schedule and times are chosen and composed by Frédéric Krauke. It will be given to the artists before the event take place. This is a proposal, a work in progress and most likely will be developed. The composition and hanging of the exhibition will be assisted involving the artists. Everbody is asked for a open willingness of echange and respect. This complex structre is the skeleton of the event, the energies and passions of the artists is the heard of it, the presented works and their combination, friction and communication are mind and spirit of UNGEMÜTLICH V.

Konzept
Eine gegliederte Form der Performance und die Verzahnung unterschiedlicher Medien und Präsentationsformen sind Mittelpunkt der Auseinandersetzung der beteiligten
Künstler/innen von UNGEMÜTLICH. Die Einschränkungen, ausgehend von einer gemeinsamen Nutzung eines begrenzten Raumes, werden von ihnen als Herausforderung und Perspektive für individuelle Interpretationen und Interaktionen verstanden. Im Kern ist jeder sich selbst, in der Peripherie treffen sie
aufeinander.
Das Konzept UNGEMÜTLICH wurde bisher vier mal erprobt: 2011 in Berlin, 2012 in Karlsruhe und 2013 in Berlin.
UNGEMÜTLCH IV wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Goethe Institut Marseille am 24. September 2016 im L'Embobineuse, 11 Boulevard oués, 13003 Marseille, Frankreich realisiert.
Am Wochende des 27. bis zum 29. Oktober wird UNGEMÜTLICH V in der Willnerbrauerei Berlin, Prenzlauer Berg, Berliner Strasse 80-82, 13189 Berlin gezeigt.

Rund vierzig Künstler sind eingeladen, an UNGEMÜTLICH V teilzunehmen. Jede Arbeit, jeder Veranstaltungstag ist ein Mikrokosmos in einem Makrokosmos, die miteinander in Verbindung stehen und dabei Reibung, Energie und Kommunikation erzeugen.
Die Spuren von Performance und Installation in Bezug auf Objekt und Klang schaffen eine steigende Komprimierung von, Raum, Moment und Intensität. Die Aufführungen finden in einer Taktzeit von 20 bis 30 Minuten nacheinander statt. Das Ende der ersten Aufführung ist wiederum der Beginn des zweiten und so weiter. Der Spielplan und die Zeiten werden von Frédéric Krauke strukturiert: Sie diehnen als Vorschlag wür eine mögliche Umsetzung, die im Laufe des Aufbauen noch vareieren kann. Die Komposition und Hängung der Ausstellung wird im Absprache und Zusamenarbeit mit den Künstlern/innen umgesetzt. Jeder Teilnehmer/in wird um eine offene Bereitschaft zum Austausch und Respekt gebeten. Diese komplexe Struktur ist das Skelett des Ereignisses, die Energien und Leidenschaften der Künstler/innen sind das Herz und der Geist von UNGEMÜTLICH V.

Corps distanciée en présence physique et fusion des corps technologique.
L’évolution de l’humanité tient dans notre capacité à communiquer, échanger, respecter.
La liberté d’expression exige l’intégrité.
Concept
Une série de performances présentées par des artistes différents s’auto-structure en temps réel et génère du sens, combinant des médias et des formes de représentations variables et aléatoires. Les artistes appréhendent les contraintes de l’occupation collective d’un espace limité comme un challenge mettant en perspective interprétations individuelles et interactions de groupe. Par essence chacun est soi-même, les uns et les autres se rencontrent en périphérie.
Les Jeux de performances UNGEMÜTLICH ont pour thème :
1. Le titre lui-même : ungemütlich, c’est-à-dire "mal à l’aise"
2. Une idée générale du corps, de l’empathie, de la contemporanéité.
3. Les individualités, les circonstances et la configuration du lieu.
4. L’œuvre personnel des participants.
Le commencement et la fin de chaque performance se confondent, la fin de l’une est le commencement de la suivante. Dans cette continuité temporelle, sur les bords et en périphérie, se lient alors les formes, les visuels, les aspects conceptuels, les sonorités développés par chacun des performers invités à être et à communiquer dans cette promiscuité. Chaque performance se lit ainsi comme le chapitre d’une histoire qui ne sera dite qu’une et une seule fois.
C’est la cinquiême histoire d' ungemütlich. Les premières eurent lieu à Berlin en 2011, Karlsruhe en 2012, de nouveau à Berlin en 2013.
Grâce à la coopération avec le Goethe-Institut de Marseille et l’Embobineuse, le projet berlinois UNGEMÜTLICH IV étais présenté à Marseille, le 24 septembre,à L’Embobineuse, 11. Boulevard Boues, 13003 Marseille.
Avec ce projet, Krauke cherche à créer un dialogue entre les artistes-performeurs berlinois et marseillais, et les publics respectifs. Frederic Krauke prévoit un autre échange pour 2017.
Les liens entre la performance, les medias et les différentes formes de présentation artistique sont au cœur de chaque projet.
Ungemütlich est un événement de performances conçu et organisé par Frederic Krauke en coopération avec une équipe de confiance composée d'artistes, techniciens, photographes, vidéastes, et amis.
